Application Process

7 Step Application Process

1. Apply to For Teach Recruiting- Submit your updated resume with professional photo.

2. Initial Skype Call- Our recruiter will schedule a skype call with you to discuss your job goals and answer any questions you may have.

3. Job Interview- We will forward your resume to a few schools that we agree will be suitable jobs for you. The HR manager will schedule a job interview with you.

4. Job Offers- After you receive a few job offers, accept your dream job.

5. Apply for Work Visa- Once you complete your Document Authentication, submit your documents in order for your employer to start your visa process. Click here to read more on Document Authentication.

6. Invitation Letter- Your employer will FedEx you the invitation letter about 15-20 days after you submit your authenticated documents. Take the invitation letter along with your passport, visa application and passport photo to the China Consulate in your jurisdiction. Click here for a list of China Consulates. 7. Fly to China- After you arrange an arrival date, book your flight.

Requirements to teach English in China

1. Valid Passport from one of the following countries(USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa)

2. Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a 3 or 4-year University in any major.

3. A clean criminal background check from the local police station.

4. Depending on the city and job, you will need either a 120 hour TEFL certificate, a Teaching Certificate, or 2 years of teaching experience with a letter of recommendation. For more info, please consult with our Job Placement Consultant.

5. A doctor’s letter with your physical health results. Can be done at any local hospital.

TEFL Requirements

The TEFL requirements can vary from city to city, but as of July 2017, most cities in China require the 120 hour TEFL Certificate. Some cities may require 2-year post-graduate work experience in addition to the TEFL, while some cities, 2-years teaching experience can take place of the TEFL requirement.
